【Abstract】 A new fluorimetric method for the determination of micro-amounts of copper was set up, based on the oxidation of thiamine into highly fluorescent thiochrome by Cu^2- in base medium. The fluorescence intensity was linear with the concentration of copper from 0. 006 to 10 ng/25ml. The relative standard deviation was 3. 5 % and the detection limit was 0. 25 ng/ml （3σ）.
