【Abstract】 Polarization analysis of three-component seismic records is a useful means for studying seismic waves, and is widely used to investigate the anisotropy and lateral heterogeneity of the earth medium.This paper presents a computer program POLALYS which,besides some data processing routines, performs polarization analysis by the single value decomposition (SVD) method in time or frequency domain, as well as by the conventional particle motion diagrams. The analyses of surface waves along four paths within continental China are shown in this paper which clearly demonstrate the effect of laterally heterogeneous velocity structure on the propagation of the waves.更多还原
