【Abstract】 The effect of ethanolic extract of Cistanche deserticola(C. A. Mey.) Benth. et Hook. f. on the contents of monoamine neurotrans mitters in rat brain was studies by the high Performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection. The extract, in a dose of 200mg/kg Po given chronically for 40 days, increased significantly the contents of noradrenaline and 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid, and the ratio of dopamine to 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid in hypothalamus. No significant effect was seen in the striatum and limbic area, though a slight increase in the striatum by dihydroxyphenyl acetic acid was observed.更多还原
