“Ch型”谷子显性核不育的遗传及其应用研究(Setaria italica)
Studies on the Inheritance of "Ch--"Dominant Nucleus Sterility of Millet (Setaria italica) and Its Application to Commercial Production
【摘要】 通过对“Ch型”谷子显性核不育的遗传研究证实“Ch型”的不育性与“澳大利亚谷”的细胞质无关,其育性是受两对显性连锁基因Ms-和Rf-上位互作控制的。其中Ms是显性不育基因。Rf是显性上位基因,当二者共同存在时,显性上位基因能抑制显性不育基因的表达,从而使不育表现可育。这种由杂交而来,并能找到“恢复系”的显性核不育是基因互作型显性核不育的典型实例。同时,作者提出和实现显性核不育纯合一型系(简称纯合一型系)、隐性纯合可育系(简称纯合可育系)和显性纯合上位系(简称纯合上位系)配套的“三系制种法”配制出杂交种,为显性核不育和基因多种互作形式在杂种优势育种中的直接利用展示了光明的前景。
【Abstract】 Results of our studies revealed that the inheritance of the "Ch--" dominant nucle-us sterility of millet has nothing to do with the cytoplasm of "Australia millet". Its fer-tility is controlled by two pairs of linked dominant genes Ms-- and Rf-- havingehistatic interaction. Ms-- is a dominant sterile gene, Af-- is a dominant epistaticgene. When both genes are present in the same individual the latter can inhibit theexpression of the former so that the individual becomes fertile. Basing this discovery,3--line system involving a single homozygous line, a homogenous fertile line and ahomozygous epistatic line was suggested for the production of hybrid seed. The "Ch--" dominant nucleus sterility is a typical example of dominant nucleusmale sterility with gene interactions. Its discovery will not only open a new field fortheoretical studies of plant male sterility but also lead to a bright prospect for practicalapplication of dominant nucleus sterilgenes and their interaction to heterosis breeding.
