【Abstract】 Catsract is the commom cause of blindness all over the world,but the mecha- nism of cataract formatiom remains unknown.Nutritiom status is comsidered to relate to catara- ot form atiom.we determined the level of selenium,am essential trace element,in lemses and sera of person with and without senile cataract,and found that the level of selenium in the sera of persons with senile cataract was lower than that in the sera of normal persons,but contents of selenium in lenses have no significant difference between normal and cataractc-us.These results.irdcated that the intake of selenium by persons with senile cataract was lers than that by no(?)mal,this perhaps is a cause of cataract formation.更多还原
