大尺寸氟化钡晶体的辐照损伤
Radiation Damage in Large Barium Fluoride Crystals
【摘要】 采用γ射线对 BaF2晶体进行辐照试验,并通过测量其辐照前后透光率的变化,研究其辐照损伤.对晶体辐照损伤与晶体生长状况之间的关系的研究结果表明,BaF2晶体的辐照损伤与晶体中的杂质和缺陷有关,当阳离子杂质浓度降至一定程度以后,氧和氢氧离子成为最有害的杂质,晶体中的缺陷如散射颗粒将导致辐照损伤.由于对晶体生长工艺的改进,大尺寸 BaF2晶体的抗辐照性能获得了大幅度的提高.在辐照损伤机理方面,可以认为,原先溶解在晶体中的氧在晶体辐照时形成氧离子是引起190~250nm 吸收带的原因,F 色心的形成是产生500~600nm 吸收带的原因.
【Abstract】 The radiation damage of BaF2 crystals has been investigated through the changes in theiroptical transmission before and after γ-ray irradiation.The correlation of radiation damage withcrystal growth conditions revealed that the radiation damage is impurity and defect related.Asimpurity is concerned,when the contents of cationic impurities decrease to a certain toleratedlevel,oxygen and hydroxyl become most harmful.High density of defect such as scatteringcenters in crystal also resulted in radiation damage.Thanks to recent progress in BaF2 crystalgrowth,an encouraging result of radiation test on large crystals has been achieved.On themechanism of radiation damage,it is likely that the oxygen ion come from dissolved oxygenduring irradiation,is the cause of 190~250 nm absorption band and the formation of F colorcenter is the reason for 500~600 nm absorption band.
