【Abstract】 This paper aims at expounding the basic concepts and interrelationships oftranslatability, untranslatability, and the extent of translatability. In line withdialectics, isomorphism and its principle of relativity in application as the theo-retical foundation of translatability and untranslatability are explored and areexemplified by their manifestation in culture and language. Expansion of the extentof translatability is theoretically tenable and practically feasible The author holdsthat the study of translatability and untranslatability is important to the practice oftranslation because it involves exploration of many aspects, such as the essence,principles, criteria and methods of translation.更多还原
