【Abstract】 A simple and rapid method for the determina-tion of the residues of ten sulfonamides (SFM s)i. e. . sulfanilamide, sulfadiazine, sulfapyridin, sul-fathiazole, sulfamerazine. sulfamethizole, sulfamet-hazine, sulfachlorpyridazine, sulfisomezol, sulfiso-xazole, in meat by HPLC has been developed. The drugs were extracted from tissue with acetonitrile-chloroform in the presence of a small volume of aqueous sodium sulfate. Evaporation of the organic solvent was carried out after centrifugation, removal of lipids by partition between aqueous sodium sulfate and hexane, and reextraction from the aqueous phase with acetonitrile-chloroform. Then the dry residue was dissolved in mobile phase and determined by HPLC with UV-detection at 285nm. The recoveries of drugs from meat fortified at 0.05, 0. 125,and 0. 25mg/kg were 70 to 96%, with a coefficient of variation between 1. 1 and 10, 5%.
