祁连山石—一种新的硼碳酸盐矿物
QILIANSHANITE——A NEW BORIC CAREONATE MINERAL
【摘要】 作者在鉴定青海省居红图硼矿床的矿物标本时发现了祁连山石,经系统测试确定为一种含硼的碳酸盐新矿物,并经国际新矿物及矿物命名委员会批准,现予以报道。祁连山石呈无色透明的板状或柱状晶体,多以集合体产出。矿物具玻璃光泽,硬度约等于2,D=1.706。{100}和{010}解理完全。矿物的化学分子式为NaHCO3·H3BO3·2H2O。该矿物属单斜晶系,空间群为C2。晶胞常数:a=1.6119 (8),b=0.6928 (4),c=0.6730 (3) nm;β=100.46(4)°,V=0.7390nm3,Z=4。二轴晶(-),a=1.351(计算值),β=1.459,γ=1.486,2V=50°,光性方位x=b,y∧a=1°,z∧c=9°,中等色散r<v。祁连山石与石英、方解石(硅华和石灰华)共生,风化后变为三方硼砂和苏打石。该矿物是由富含硼元素和碱的古泉水经沉积作用形成,也可能是由富含硼元素的古泉水与早期形成的钠碳酸盐矿物相互作用的结果。祁连山石根据产地命名。该矿物的标准样品保存在中国地质博物馆中。
【Abstract】 Qilianshanite is a new boric carbonate mineral, which was approved by the Commission on New Minerals and Mineral Names, International Mineralogical Association on May 2, 1992. It occurs in the lower part of the Juhongtu boron deposit on the southwest border of the Qilian Mountain System, Qinghai Province, China. The mineral is associated with quartz, calcite(calc-tufa), tincalconite and nahcolite, of which the latter two are the products of natural weathering of qilianshanite. Wet chemical analysis gave the empirical formula as Na1.07 Ca0.01 H8.86 C0.71 B1.06 O8.00. The ideal formula NaHCO3. H3BO3·2H2O has been confirmed by crystal structure analysis.Qilianshanite occurs mainly as massive aggregates, only in a small amount as tabular or prismatic crystals. It is colorless, transparent, vitreous,{100}and {010} cleavages perfect, with polysynthetic twin, Mohs hardness about 2, D(meas.) = 1.706g/cm3, optically biaxial negative, 2V= 50°, α(calc.) 1.351 [α(meas.)<1.365], β 1.459(2), γ 1.486(2), x=b, y∧a=1°, z∧c=9°, medium dispersion r <v.Single crystal study shows the mineral to be monoclinic, with space group C2, unit cell parameters: a 1.6119 (8), b 0.6928 (4), c 0.6730 (3) nm, β100.46(4)°, V0.7390(7)nm3, Z 4. The strongest lines in the powder diffraction pattern (13 given) are 0.636(25) (110), 0.3464 (100) (020), 0.3173 (59) (220), 9.1731nm (19) (040).Qilianshanite was probably formed from sedimentation in fossil spring water rich in boron and soda or from metasomatism of boron-bearing spring water with earlier-formed sodium carbonate minerals.The mineral qilianshanite is named after the locality. The typical specimen has been preserved at the National Museum of Geology, Beijing, China.
