【Abstract】 In order to ensure that the multiwiie proportional chamber and drift chamber used in the particle physics and nuclear physics are working normally, we must measure the wire tension after the wire being fixed. The classical method of hanging weight is the simplest one, but this method is not accurate due to the wire displacement introducing large error. An improved method of hanging weight is given in this paper. It consists of four steps. (1) Using the turnable refractor and the telemicroscope laid on the stand whose height can be adjusted; (2) Locating the image of the wire fry means of crosshair in the telemicroscope; (3) Measuring the turn angle of refractor with a vernier, and (4) Calculating the wire tension according to the formulae presented in this paper. The relative precision of this improved method is±1%.更多还原
