【Abstract】 This paper discusses the marine geological investigations aimed at hydrocarbon resources, integrate coastal zone and tidal flat investigations, and surveys around islands and peripheries, on the basis of the great number of geological and geophysical data collected during the last 3 decades. Compared with developed countries, our marine geological studies, regional geology, theoretical geology, and investigations on hydrocarbon basis and seabed solid mineral resources are found at a lower level.As the great marine development begins, basic data and maps of marine geology (about hydrocarbon, harbour and port, seabed engineering, marine environment, and coast defence etc.) are needed, especially by marine industries. This paper talks about the feasibility and significance of 1:l,000,000-scaled mari ne regional investigation in China, lets us know the marine geological investiga -tion status at home and abroad, appraises the methodology, investigation contents and scheduled results, and proposes plans for the assessment and execution of the investigations.更多还原
