【Abstract】 Since the very ancient times, Xinjiang has been apassageway for the economic and cultural exchanges between the East and west, and a place for many different nationalities to live, multiply and converge upon the development of Xinjiang. These historical activities have left their traces on many place names of Xinjiang. It is discussed on the impact of opening up wasteland by emigrants in the Qing Dynasty on place names of Xinjiang. Four aspects can be classified about the place names, i. e. emigrants’ place names, place names of opening up wasteland, names of place location and dialectal place names, respectively.更多还原
