【Abstract】 Based on a great amount of spectrometric experimental data,the factors connected with the detection limit were examined. A few of typical approaches for calculating the detection limit were summarized and evaluated based on the experimental data and theories. The possible problems encountered when using the detection limit value as a basis for comparing analytical methods and analytical instruments were discussed.
