【Abstract】 This paper describes the process of mirror finishing of engineering ceramics. On the basis of a study on the mechanism for the material removal of ceramics and the conditions affecting transformation of phases the mirror finishing of a ceramic cylindrical surface have been achieved successfully, following two optimum processing schemes as proposed.
