【Abstract】 Six cases suffered from ischemic cerebral vascular disease examined by transcranial Doppler sonography during 68 times external counterpulsation performances were reported. The results showed that the mean velocity increased 8.9cm/s (12%), 6.5cm/s (13.6%) and 5.72cm/s (14.7%) in the middle, anterior and posterior arteries respectively. The diastolic peak velocity increased 37.46cm/s (54.8%), 27.21cm/s (61.6%) and 21.94cm/s (61.5%) respectively in the corresponding arteries mentioned above.
