【Abstract】 Platelet activating factor （PAF） induces the contraction of isolated rat ileum at a concentration of 10^-9mol/L.An alcoholic extract （0.5mg/ml） of Piper hencei Maxim. shifted the dose-response curve of PAF to the right and significantly depressed the maximal response, showing a non-competitive antagonism. The IC₅₀ of the alcoholic extract was 0.25mg/ml. It can markedcy relax the contraction of ileums indu ced by high K⁺ or high Ca²⁺, but does not affect the contractions induced by His, Ach and 5-HT. These results suggested that the extract of P. hancei Maxim. possesses marked and specific antagonistic action against PAF, and the action may possibly due to its blocking of calcium entry.更多还原
