【Abstract】 1:1,1,2,3,3, 5-Hexamethylindan is a parent constitution of polycyclic musk per-fume compounds. An orthogonal test with reaction temperature, time, amount of AlCl₃ andthe molar ratio of p-cymene to 2-methyl-2-butene as factors A, B, C, D, respectively, hasbeen conducted and it is found that the optimal condition is A₂B₃C₂D₂（0℃, 3.5h, 10% and1:1.8）. The products under the optimal condition have been characterized as follows: 1,1,2,3,3, 5-hexamethylindan, 36.8% and 1,1,3, 5-tetramethy1-3-ethylindan, 11.7%（relative to p-cymene）.更多还原
