【Abstract】 NMR tracing technique (in situ NMR technique) is used to study the thermal andbasic catalytic conversion of 2(3H) furanone to 2(5H) furanone. The rate constant havebeen determined and the mechnism is discussed. The thermal conversion constant at 120℃ is2.54×10-3mol·L-1·min-1 and the activation energy is 81.0KJ·mol-1. The base-catalyzedconversion of this reaction is faster than thermal conversion. The rate constant of the formerat 25℃ is 6.02×10-3 mol·L-1·min-1.
