【Abstract】 In 1984 according to morphylogical characters such as plant height and plant type, three fine strains of sagebrush (Artemisia transiliansis Poljak.) were obtained from wild sagebrush population through two mass selections, which distributed over desert pasture in low-mountain area in the northern slop of Tianshan. Then, the cultivar yili was selected from those strains through variety test, production test and breeder seed strains through variety test, production test and breeder seed multip lication.
