【Abstract】 The effects of occupational exposure toacrylamide were studied in 41 workers froma factory producing acrylamide and its pol-ymers. Eighty unexposed healthy adultsserved as the control group. Neurologicalexaminations showed distal impairments ofvibration and pain sensations in37% and 54%of the acrylamide workers respectively. Di-minished ankle reflexes appeared in 34% ofthe acrylamide group but none in control gr-oup. An increase of vibration thresholds wasfound in 58.5% of the acrylamide groupwhen compared with that of the control gro-up, detected by a Vibraton Ⅱ vibration sen-sitivity tester. Thirteen out of 35 acrylamideworkers who had neurogenic changes in el-ectroneuromyography were diagnosed asmild occupational acrylamide poisoning. Theresults clearly indicate the necessity of pre-ventive measures for protection of workers’health.更多还原
