【Abstract】 The oculocardiac reflex(OCR) is a trigeminal-vagal-mediated reflex. It involves either an intraoperative lowering of heart rate exceeding 10 beats per-minute or 10 percent of the preoperative heart rate or any kind of dysrhythmia during ocular manipulation. In a recent observation of 100 outpatients undergone aesthetic blepharoplasty under local anesthesia by the authors, OCR was noted to occur in 20 cases(20％). It was most likely to occur during traction on the fat pads or pressure on the eyeball for hemostasis of the lid wound. Comparison was made between patients who had v. who had not received atropine injection preoperatively. No significant difference were noted. Since the aesthetic blepharoplasty is to be done more and more popularly, awareness of this potentially lifethreatening oculocardiac reflex and familiar with its management are necessary.更多还原
