【Abstract】 Some breaking faces of two types of the invalid nodular cast iron crankshaft are analyzed. From the analysis, the crankshaft breaking property, or the impact overload bending break, has been determined, and the view has been put forward that there are two kinds of possibilities of giving rise to the impact overload, if the perpendicularity of the cylinder centre line to the crankshaft bearing centre line is not ensured in the assembly processing.
