【Abstract】 In this Paper, a new energy-saving ship form with a sharp bow and a cochlear stern is introduced. It is developed based on the theoretical study and the analysis of fhe results of a series of comparative resistance and self-propelled tests. The first Prototype of this ship form has been applied to a Yangtze River supervision boat.The performances of the new ship form are good. The trial test results of the boat shows that (1) in comparison with comparative ship, the propulsive power of the boat decreases by more than 20%;(2) both the maneuverability and the rudder efficiency of the boat are well, especially when the boat goes astern the latter is quite good; (3) the rolling angle of the boat is reduced by the cochlea-channelled stern.更多还原
