甲基丙烯酸甲酯-丙烯酸正丁酯-烯丙基磺酸钠的无皂乳液共聚合
SOAP-FREE EMULSION COPOLYMERIZATION OF MMA-BA-SODIUM ALLYL SULFONATE
【摘要】 经红外光谱检测证实,离子型单体烯丙基磺酸钠(NaAS)参与了甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)与丙烯酸正丁酯(BA)的无皂乳液共聚合。胶粒平均直径((?)W)及其数量(Np)可由反应温度,NaAS浓度,引发剂过硫酸钾(KPS)浓度和离子强度来控制。胶粒表面电荷密度主要由NaAS浓度、KPS浓度以及离子强度所决定。通过调整聚合条件,可以制得(?)w为0.2~0.4μm、Np为(0.6~2.6)×1013个/mL、表面电荷密度为(1~5)×1013个电荷/cm2的单分散乳胶粒子。
【Abstract】 Soap-free emulsion copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and butyl acrylate (BA) in the presence of water soluble ionic comonomer , sodium allyl sulfonate (NaAS) and of the initiator , potassium persulfate (KPS ), were carried out. The effects of various reaction conditions such as polymerization temperature , NaAS concentration, KPS concentration and ionic strength on the average particle diameter (Dw),number of particle (Np) and surface properties were studied .Under constant ionic strength ,variation of the NaAS concentration gives a minimum of Dw and a maximum of Np , because a too high functional monomer concentration results in the latex destabilization caused by the formation of a large amount of polyelectrolytes. Dw decreases and Np increases linearly with increasing KPS concentra- tion . Increasing KPS concentration to 4 × 10-3mol/L results in the formation of weak acid end groups which are caused by side reactions .Addition of salt such as sodium sulfate to raise the ionic strength in the aqueous gives a process of drop ,unchange and drop for Np, which is simi-lar to that of particle surface charge density .
