磺化丁基橡胶离子聚合体及其与PP或HDPE共混物的性能
PROPERTIES OF SULFONATED BUTYL RUBBER IONOMERS AND THEIR BLENDS WITH PP OR HDPE
【摘要】 通过乙酰硫酸在石油醚中与丁基橡胶(IIR)作用,再分别用Ce3+、Al3+和乙胺中和,制得了3种磺化IIR离子聚合体。对离子聚合体的性能及其与聚丙烯(PP)、高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)共混的流变性质及其共混物的力学性能进行了研究。结果表明,用20%(质量,下同)硬脂酸锌增塑的磺化IIR铈离子聚合体(GeS-IIR)的加工性能和力学性能均较好。用10%硬脂酸锌增塑的磺化IIR乙胺离子聚合体同PP共混呈现协同效应,同HDPE共混呈现加和效应。用20%硬脂酸锌增塑的CeS-IIR同HDPE共混呈现抵消效应。用Al3+或Ce3+中和的磺化IIR离子聚合体的熔融粘度较低、永久变形较小,可作为热塑性弹性体,但强度较乙胺中和的为低。
【Abstract】 Ionomers of sulfonated butyl rubber neutralized with trivalent metal ions Ce3+ , Al3+ and ethylamine were prepared by the sulfonation of butyl rubber with acetyl sulfate in petroleum ether followed by neutralization . These ionomers are CeS - IIR, AlS - IIR and EAS - IIR respectively .The CeS - IIR could not be kneaded uniformly together and could not be compression molded well at 160°C . But if zinc stearate was added , the sample was plasticized and could be kneaded together . This may presumably be due to the plasticizing action zinc stearate that weakened the interaction between sulfonic groups andcations . With increasing amount of zinc stearate , the torque value or melt viscosity of CeS - IIR first raised and then diminished , the peak value (38 N · m) appeared when the content of zinc stearate was 20% (mass). Both tensile strength and ultimate elongation showed a maximun value at 20% content of zinc stearate ,while the permanent set showed a minimum value (Table). The processing and mechanical properties of CeS-IIR were good , and it could be used as a new thermoplastic elastomer .With 10% (mass) zinc stearate as ionic plasticizer , EAS-IIR blended with PP and HDPE at 170°C and 160 °C respectively in a Brabender Plasticorder at a shear rate of 20 r/min . After 15 min , the torque value reached equilibrium which indicated that a uniform mixing was finished . The tensile strength of blend of EAS-IIR with PP was higher than the theoretical additive value of tensile strength of EAS-IIR and PP ,exhibiting an evident synergistic behavior (Figure). While that of the blend of EAS-IIR with HDPE showed additive properties .
