【Abstract】 The purification of automobile exhaust gases and muffling and their correlation have been studied. On the basis of a numerous experiments of purifying, and oil consumption, a JX-Series purifying-muffling device was studied and manufactured, the purifying rate over 95% ior CO and over 70% for CH_x were acheived respectively. The muffling of 1～3dB(A), as compared with the original muffling, was obtained, and the noise level obtained was 5～6 dB (A) lower than that in the National Standards.
