【Abstract】 p-Chloromethylstyrene (p-CMS) is a useful monomer for the preparation of functional polymers. Radical copolymerization of this compound with acrylonitrile( AN), ethyl methacry late (EMA) and butyl methacrylate (BMA) were studied at 60℃. The compositions of the copolymers were determined by the elementary analysis of chlorine. The monomer reactivity ratios (r1 and r2) were obtained by the Fineman-Ross method. The Q,e values of p-CMS were calculated by the Q-e scheme of Alfrey and Price.
