【Abstract】 Based on the stochastic features of flood processes and the practical need of flood control work, author explains the necessity to carry out flood insurance in flood-diversion area. Combined with the practical exper-iences in home and abroad,the possibility to develop this work successfully is analyzed.On this basis the author suggests two different methods for calc-ulating flood insurance expenses.
