【Abstract】 American Ginseng (Panax quinguefolium L. ) cultivated in China were processed into freeze-dried, red, scalded and original varieties. They were given orally at a dose of 5.0g/kg to mice to evaluate their pharmacological activities. The results showed that these four varieties, had the effects on antihypoxia and antihyperthermia, promote growth, enhance body temperature regulation at 50℃ and stabilize red cell membrane in hyposmotic solution.
