【Abstract】 Six herb medicines used as raw materials in producing "Liuwei Dihuang Wan" by nine pharmaceutical faotories were identified by microscopy and TLC. Result of the identification showed that Shudi (Rehmannia glutinosa). Shanzhuyu (Comus of fcinalis), Zexie (Alisma orientale) and Foling (Foria cocos) were in conformity with the specifications of Chinese Pharmacopoeia, while Shanyao was obtained from the root stem of five species of the same genus, and Danpi was obtained from six different species, namely Paeonia suffruticosa, P. szechuanica, P. tholictrurnifolia, F. suffruticosa Var. papaveracea.
