【Abstract】 The concentration and distribution of nutrients (phosphate, silicate, nitrate, nitrite and ammonium) in the waters of Jiuzhen Bay, Fujian Province were investigated in four seasonal cruises between 1988 and 1989. In the spring cruise, the mean concentration of phosphate, silicate, nitrate, ammonium and chlorophyll-a was 0.09, 31.7, 6.81, 0.97, 10.3μmol/L and 2.08mg/L respectively. In the summer cruise, the mean concentrations of these components were 0.25, 56.4, 6.06, 0.74, 5.09μmol/L and 2.13mg/L respectively. In the fall cruise, the mean concentrations of these components were 0.83, 33.6, 4.52, 1.16, 0.87μmol/L and 6.02mg/L respectively. In the winter cruise, the mean concentrations of these components were 0.72, 43.2, 20.7, 0.41, 1.12μmol/L and 1.07mg/L respectively. It was found that the concentration of nutrients often correlated with salinity and chlorophll-a concentration. In spring and summer, the growth of marine phytoplankton in the bay was limited by low phosphate concentration. On the other hand, the high ammonium concentration in the spring and fall revealed that anthropogenic activities had changed the concentration of ammonium in some seasons.更多还原
