【Abstract】 The surface tension of broncho-alveolar lavage (BALF) fluid in rats with the intracheal injection of 25mg of coal and quartz particles was observed during 120 days. The reduction of surface tension of BALF may be related to the increase of phospholipids of BALF and the number and function of the alveolar type Ⅱcells.The surface tension is more sensitive thenphospholipids.
