The Effect of the Existence of HBV DNA in the Peripheral Mononuclear Cells on Their Interleukin-2 Production in Patients with Chronic Persistent Hepatitis B
【Abstract】 Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated from 28 patientswith chronic persistent hepatitis B (CPH) and 10 normal individuals for detectingHBV DNA and interleukin-2 (IL-2) .HBV DNA was found in the PBMCs from 9patients but was absent in 10 normal controls.IL-2 activities from both group withHBV DNA detected and group without HBV DNA detected were markedly decrea-sed in comparision with 10 controls (P<0. 01) IL-2 activity of PBMCs from groupwith HBV DNA detected was significantly lower than that of group without HBVDNA detected (P<0. 05) .The results indicate that the existence of HBV DNA inPBMCs is one of the causes of the decrease in IL-2 activity and that HBV inPBMCs is related to any specific or global defect in the function of them, thesemay play an important role on the immunopathogenesis of the disease such ascausing the process cryptoplasmically and chronically etc.
