【Abstract】 To meet the need of concurrent design, the geometric model of a product ought to be a parametrized model described by features. The possibility of automatically constructing a parametrized geometry model has been investigated and the auto-modelling principle is given. The parametrized geometry model of a product can be described by a parametric graph which can be stored as sets in a computer. The features instanced in the parametric graph are digitized and their dimensions and positions are determined by specific values. These values are mapped into variables by a computer and linear equations can be automatically worked out with the dimensioning information shown in the graph. The equations can be solved with the computer so that the magnitudes and positions of features are expressed in a parametrized form. The parametrized geometry model based on the features is constructed.更多还原
