【Abstract】 Ap measurements are considerably influenced by the volume of each part and the vacuum of the sealed mercury tube end of the Ap meter, insomuch that Ap measurements are in some cases unobtainable. This influence is quantitatively analysed through theoretical deduction and computer simulation, with results which find good agreement with field observations.
