矿床模型在找矿勘探中的应用
USES OF ORE DEPOSIT MODELS IN MINERAL EXPLORATION
【Abstract】 An ore deposit model is a conceptual and/or empirical standard whichembodies both the descriptive features of the deposit type and an explanationof these features in terms of geological processes. The descriptive featuresof models serve as criteria for exploration area selection (Area SelectionCriteria), which can be determind from their relative frequency of associationwith ore in a representative sample of the deposit population, resulting inan empirical model. A genetic model is derived by considering the geneticrelationship of area selection criteria to ore. The weak links in model building are the lack of effort which goesinto systematically assembling the data on the known population of deposits, and the weak scientific underpinnings of the genetic interpretation. Both ofthese factors influence exploration by leading to inappropriate assessmentsof the relative importance of area selection criteria. In Canada, the historyof exploration for gold deposits has provided a good illustration of thisinfluence of models on area selection criteria, and thereby, on explorationstrategy and techniques.
