【Abstract】 Beijing is situated in the semi-dry North China, being severely short of water resources. However, a large quantity of waste water is drained away from the city every day. Therefore, reutilization of waste water may not only alleviate the critical Situation of water resources, but also improve the environment. The detection and elimination ofviruses in water is an important problem. In order to find out the variety and quantity of viruses in water in Beijing Area, the situation of virus contamination in the waste water system of the largest scale the Gaobeidian Waste Water system was investigated. Then, the efficacy of the use of advanced waste water treatment to eliminate viruses forreutilization of water was observed.
