【Abstract】 The preparation of stannous oxide with catalytic activity for esterification wasdescribed. Esters were prepared from esterification of n-butanol and n-pentanol with aceticacid, sebacic acid, citric acid, benzoic acid, salicylic acid and phthalic anhydride in the pre-sence of the catalyst. Their yield and physical constants were determined and compared withthe data reported. The mechanism of catalytic esterification by stannous oxide was suggestedand the advantage of esterification in the presence of this catalyst was discussed.更多还原
