【Abstract】 The paper studies reproduction, feeding, growth, distribution, migration and lifespan of Salanx ariakensis Kishinouye. The fish distributes widely in Yangtze River Estuary and the neighbouring marine water of salinity between 0.01—20‰.Between September and November, the adult fish, at the age of one year, migrate from the Saline water to the brackish water of the estuary to spawn.
