【Abstract】 Experiments were performed on 10healthy Wistar rats with chronically im-planted electrodes for the recording ofelectrocoticogram (ECoG), electro--ocu-logram (EOG ), and electro-myogram(EWG). All the rats were prepared for theimplantatiou of recording electroded under5％ Ketamine (100mg/kg i.p. )anesthesia.Four to six days after operation, the ratwas put in an apparatus which was de-signed specifically sensitive to detect themovement of the animal without electrodeon the body so that electroactogram (EAG)could be recorded readily. One group ofexperiment animal (n = 5), recorded ECoG,EAG, EOG and EMG simultaneously, wascompared to another group(n = 5), recordedECoG and EAG simultaneously. The resultsof experiments indicate that. the ECoG.recorded from the the mesial frontal andoccipital areas, have certain characteris-tics during different sleep phases, and thecharacteristics for classifying sleep phasesby the two kinds of somnopolygram aresimilar. Therefore, simultaneous record-ing of the ECoG and EAG can be used todiscriminate the sleep phases in the rat.In this way,the sonmopolygraphic record-ing method for studying sleep in the ratwould be simplified.更多还原
