【Abstract】 A new adaptive filter, called the combined time-delay adaptive filter, is proposed in this paper. Compared with the traditional lookup table adaptive filter, the new configuration can synthesize a signal response with a long time delay and has the characteristic of fast convergence speed. The new adaptive filter can be used as an echo canceller in ISDN U-interface full-duplex transmission system. The paper discusses the algorithm, characteristics and application of the filter.
