【Abstract】 Middle Triassic turbidites are widely distributed in Nanpenjiang basin. The characteristics ofMiddle Triassic turbidite are described in detail in the paper. Based on the discriminant analysis of min-eral and chemical composition of turbidites, the authors discuss about the source area of turbidite andtectonic setting of the basin. The results of discriminant analysis of mineral composition show that thesurces are continental block and recycled orogenic zone. It means that the North Vietnam oldland andJiangnan oldland are main sources of Middle Triassic turbidites. The results of discriminant functionanalysis of chemical composition demonstrate that the tectonic setting of Nanpanjiang basin belongs tothe pessive margin basin.更多还原
