【Abstract】 We observed the metabolism of gentamycin in patients suffering from cor pulmonale with chronic respiratory failure and 14 other patients without. We found that when gentamycin was used in those who were suffering from respiratory failure, the pharmacokinetic parameters presented marked changes, an extention of the half-life period and a slowing down of the rate of elimination of the drug.These merited our attention in safely and effectively administering gentamycin to patients with cor pulmonale complicated by chronic respiratory failure.After calculation, we think it proper to give this medicine in a dosage of 100 mg (100 000 u) twice daily by i. v. drip at a rate of 33 mg/n, with an interval of 12 h between.更多还原
