【Abstract】 The influences of rare-earth ore addition on both the properties of industrial enamel, and the microstructure of enamel layer have been studied in this paper. The results obtained from the substitution of a small amount of rare-earth ore addition for clay addition in industrial enamel have also been presented in this paper. The distribution of rare-earth elements in enamel has been observed by means of SEM. The results show that the rare-earth elements are rich in the middle part of enamel layer. Therefore, according to the SEM results, the relationship between the properties and the mierostructure in industrial enamel added with rare-earth ore could be explained.
