【Abstract】 ELLPACK is a very high level system for solving elliptic problems . It is based on the principles of software part technology . The design of ELLPACK system makes it a flexible tool for studying numerical methods and solving application problems. ELLPACK. as a problem oriented and a very high level language suggests an important step toward the modernization of scientific compution . A description of the origin , evolution and some advanced feutures of ELLPACK , an automatic solving system for elliptic problems is given . Then the structure .functions and principles of the ELLPACK system are discussed. Finally , its recent development and evolution and its future are introduced including the PC ELLPACK, interactive ELLPACK .distributed PDE expert system as well as the future mathematical software infrastructure .更多还原
