【Abstract】 Overall mass transfer coefficients, K_La,have been measured in dispersions of air inNewtonian fluids, i.e., aqueous solutions ofglucose and glycerin and non-Newtonian flu-ids, i. e., CMC solutions and fermentationbroths. The experiments were performed in a24 cm i, d. model reactor with a triangularpyramid shaped self-priming stirrer with speedvarying from 11.52 to 26.12 r/s. A dimensioncorrelation for K_La in Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. was obtained as following:
