【Abstract】 A series of 53 patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma involving the Waldeyer’s ring treated from 1971 through 1985 was analysed.All patients had clinical Stage Ⅰ or Ⅱ lesions and were treated with radiotherapy alone to a tumor dose of 50-70 Gy. Fourty-six percent of patients had diffuse large cell or diffuse mixed small and large cell types histologically. The overall 5- and 10-year survival rates were 55%(29/53) and 55%(23/42),respectively. After an actuarial analysis of the cause of death, prophylactic irradiation in the upper abdominal region combined with chemotherapy is strongly advised. It is suggested that Ann Arbor staging system be modified and a new system more suitable for various subsystems be designed.更多还原
