【Abstract】 This paper reported the synthesis of anthracyclinone 2-acetyl-5 12-diacetoxy-l,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6,11-naphthacenequinone mainly by the Diels-Alder reaction with an overall yield of 15%, starting from furan and maleic anhydride.
