【Abstract】 Harrington distraction rod has been used in clinical practicefor scoliosis and fractures of the thoracolumbar spine.The result of correct-ing spinal deformities is satisfactory.However,the incidence of the complica-tion following Harrington instrumentation is 4. 5%.One of the complicationis the breakage of Harrington rod.The reasons of the breakage of Harringtonrod are analysed.Theauthors recommend to attach a casing pipe as a reliablemethod for prophylaxis of the breakage of Harrington rod.更多还原
