偶板造波机生成的内波振幅—理论与实验的比较
Amplitudes of Internal Waves Generated by Even-paddle Wave-Makers:A Comparison Between Theory and a Laboratory Experiment
【摘要】 本文在线性分层条件下应用二维分层流方程导得了偶板造波机生成内波的理论振幅公式,即a2m=2Ak2m[1-(-1)m]l2m-1(πm)-2,此公式表明偶模态即m为奇数时,对应的内波模态为生成模态。它改进了[1]的理论公式。当A、N及ω不变时,相邻生成模的振幅比为a2m/a2(m+2)=(m+2)2/m2。在自制的小型内波实验水槽中,用1、2模态联合造波机验证了上述公式,结果表明理论和实验基本吻合。理论公式的不足之处是尚不能预报当m为偶数时的偶模态内波振幅。
【Abstract】 A theoretical formula of amplitudes of internal waves generated by even-paddle wave-makers, , is derived under the condition of linear’density stratification, where m is an odd number and 2m is the mode number. When A, N and ω are constants, the amplitude ratio of mode 2m to mode 2(m+2) is a2m/a2(m+2)=(m+2)2/m2. The theoretical results are examined by laboratory experiments performed in a small long tank using a mode 1-and-mode 2 paddle wave-maker designed by authors. The agreement is reasonable. The weakness of the theory is that it can hot predict the amplitudes with even number m.
